Private Tours Jamaica

One Country Four Cruise Ship Ports: Taking a cruise which will dock at one of Jamaica’s exquisite ports? Then you are in for an experience of a lifetime because almost every must do excursion can be part of your cruise stop when you arrive in Jamaica. The kind of experience you have in exploring our beautiful island will depend on which port you disembark. For many years, Jamaica has enjoyed a place on the list of many famous Cruise Lines’ destination. In previous years there were only two ports on the North Coast; the now boast the addition of another. Currently there are four ports in Jamaica located in Port Antonio, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Falmouth. Each of these ports accommodate vessels of various sizes from the largest to the smallest including the Harmony of the Seas which is the biggest cruise ship in the world capable of carrying at maximum 6,780 passengers and 2,300 crew members. The Busiest of the Four.
Montego Bay is the tourist capital of Jamaica and is home to the Montego Bay Port which is hosts many Cruise Liners each week. The city of Montego Bay has a long history of passengers arriving on ships dating back to the early 1950s when visitors used to arrive on steamed ships. The tradition continues today; this modernized port is the busiest cruise port on the island especially because of its location. Situated on the northwest section of Jamaica, visitors to experience the Paradise of which they may have read or heard in the form of tours and excursions to many different areas both near and far.
The famous resort town of Negril is just one hour west of Montego Bay; visitors are able to enjoy the intimate and unforgettable experience that Negril offers; strolling on the famous Seven Mile Beach, snorkeling, glass bottom boat tours are only a few of the exciting activities to do in this town. To get the full taste of Jamaica; you must dine at one of the many restaurants so you can enjoy some of the many indigenous spices.
The resort town of Negril is also famous Cliff diving at Rick’s Cafe. Brilliant sunsets are on the offer there at the Ricks CafĂ© as well; however they happen around 6:30 PM when it would be too late for cruisers. Not to worry, the drive there along with the 7 mile beach and a change to jump or watch others take a plunge of the cliffs will worth your while.

The resort town of Ocho Rios boasts a history which records its name being coined by the Spanish who occupied the island up until the year 1655. The name Ocho Rios means Eight Rivers; there are eight rivers which run through the parish. The town is famous known for its waterfalls; Dunn’s River and the Blue Hole Secret Falls are close by the township. These locations make Ocho Rios a great port to disembark, as it offers many water activities as suitable choices for excursions.
The Dunn’s River Falls is a fantastic water-falls that has been attracting hundreds and sometimes thousands of people per day. Due to its famous position, on a day when cruise ships are visiting the island it can be really crowded; surprisingly visitors who disembark at three of the four ports can enjoy a day at Dunn’s River and return to their ships before the time it is scheduled to depart.
The perfect alternative to the Dunn’s River is the Blue Hole Secret Falls; though just a bit farther, it certainly is worth the trip, as it offers more than the other waterfalls. Water lovers are able to explore the caves at the Blue Hole as well as rope swinging, diving, swimming and fall climbing.
For a unique experience while in Jamaica, there is none that is better than hand feeding hummingbirds that live in the wild. Yes, you read correctly. The Rocklands Bird Sanctuary situated about 20 minutes from the Montego Bay cruise port offers a nature exclusive experience that is unforgettable. It is an experience that even the mildest bird enthusiast should do at least once.
The Martha Brae River located in Trelawny offers a fantastic activity which is perfect for anyone who is interested in less physical doings. The site of the activities offered on the river is approximately fifteen (15) minutes from the Falmouth Port and forty five (45) minutes from the Montego Bay Port, the river is about a 45 minute drive along the A1 northern coast.
The nature of this low-keyed, but exciting excursion is being one of two persons seated on a raft made from large bamboos. The River Guide operates the raft allowing it to carefully meander down the Martha Brae River. The trip offers great sights and views which you might want to capture.
