Montego Bay Excursions
While there may not be a plethora of excursions to do in
Montego Bay itself, the location makes arguably the best place to stay in
Jamaica. Montego Bay is just 60 minutes east of Negril and 90 minutes west of
Ocho Rios home Jamaica's premier tourist attraction, Dunn's River Falls. Also
not to out-staged is the Blue Hole Secret Falls located in Ocho Rios as well,
has become the new phenomenal since the past couple of years.
Negril on the other side is famous for its seven-mile beach
and cliff diving at the Rick's cafe which is also known for watching glorious
sunsets. On the Southern Coast of Jamaica there are some other excursions that
has become the envy of other resort towns. Attractions like the Black River
Safari, YS Waterfalls and the Pelican Bar which is one of the only sea bars in
the world. It is a bar made rustic from wood built on sand dunes about a mile
out in the Caribbean Sea. Montego Bay is still centrally located to these
attractions which are about ninety minutes away.
Montego Bay came on board as a tourist destination during
the 1950s. The famous Dr. Cave Beach waters was purported to have had curative
properties and so many visitors came to use to beach to rid arthritis. This has
what got Montego Bay going and it has not stop since. It now boasts an
international airport and a cruise port as well. It has thousands of hotel
rooms and has been dubbed the gateway to the Caribbean.
Montego Bay do have its own excursions going such as
Zip-line, horse-back ride and swim, ATV and hand feeding humming birds that
live in the wild are just some to the excursions in Montego Bay.
